The member representing Awka North/South in the Federal House of Representatives, Prof. Oby Lilian Orogbu, has explained why she recommitted to the bill for the establishment of the Federal University of Agriculture, Awba-Ofemili, reports NaijaAgroNet.
Orogbu in her motion Wednesday in Abuja, called for the recommittal of the Bill to the Committee of the whole to fast-rack it’s passage.
NaijaAgroNet recalled that this Bill was initiated by her predecessor, Hon. Chinedu Onwuaso in the 9th Assembly but it could not be passed before the life span of that Assembly by June 2023.
A press statement from the Orogbu Media Team, quoted Prof. Orogbu as saying that on realization of the importance of the Bill to her constituency, she vigorously pursued and resurrected the Bill so that it could go for clause to clause considerations.
"After the clause to clause considerations by the committee of the whole the Bill will be sent to conference committee of the Senate and the House for its concurrence and final passage," source said.
