SMEDAN commences update of MSMEs data



The Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency of Nigeria (SMEDAN) has commenced plans to update its data on Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) reports NaijaAgroNet.

The Director General Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency of Nigeria, AlhajiBatureMasari, said this in an interview in Abuja that the agency has kicked off to update the MSMD on Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises 2010 data.

NaijaAgroNet recalls that the 2010 report showed that about 17 million Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) have a collective record of 32 million employers in Nigeria.

The Director-General who said that the significant contribution of the SMEs to the Nigeria economy in 2010 partly called for the survey so, now he is calling on stakeholders join hands and  together to create a better atmosphere t help bring out the best of the SMEs to boost the Nigeria economy.

“The MSMEs space is large and demands the unflinching commitment of stakeholders and practitioners,” he said.
