The Dangote Petroleum Refinery has reaffirmed its unwavering commitment to Nigeria’s economic progress, workers’ welfare, and industrial stability, while commending President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his timely intervention in averting what it described as “the disruptive actions of PENGASSAN” against the company.
“Dangote Refinery is grateful to the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, His Excellency Bola Ahmed Tinubu, for his intervention through his ministers and senior officials, which resulted in the abatement of the disruptive actions of PENGASSAN against the Refinery,” the statement read.
The company expressed appreciation to several senior officials for their “tireless and patriotic efforts” in resolving the crisis, including National Security Adviser Mallam Nuhu Ribadu; DSS Director General Mr. Adeola Toyin Ajayi; NIA Director General Mr. Mohammed Mohammed; Minister of Labour and Employment Dr. Mohammed Dingyadi; Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy Mr. Wale Edun; Minister of Budget and Economic Planning Senator Abubakar Bagudu; and Minister of State for Labour and Employment Hon. Nkeiruka Onyejeocha.
According to Dangote Refinery, their collaborative engagement and overnight mediation helped avert what could have escalated into a national disruption in fuel supply and industrial harmony.
The company also expressed gratitude to Nigerians across all walks of life for their public solidarity during the episode, describing it as a powerful reminder of the shared national spirit.
“To Nigerians, we owe more than gratitude. Your encouragement was humbling and energizing. You reinforced our faith in the Nigerian people as the true backbone of our enterprise,” the statement affirmed.
Dangote Refinery further praised its employees for their professionalism, loyalty, and discipline in maintaining steady operations despite external pressures.
“Our greatest strength lies in our people—their dedication, resilience, and commitment to excellence. We deeply appreciate our workforce for standing firm in defense of our mission,” it stated.
Reiterating its role as one of Nigeria’s largest private employers and top contributors to tax revenue, the company emphasized its adherence to international best practices in labour welfare and employee relations.
“Dangote Group’s compensation framework meets global benchmarks, ensuring fairness, welfare, and opportunities for professional growth,” it added.
The refinery also commended the Nigerian judiciary for upholding due process and standing firm in defense of justice, describing it as “a pillar of hope and national integrity.”
Concluding, Dangote Refinery pledged to continue serving the Nigerian nation with diligence, innovation, and patriotism.
