About US$146billion aid to tackle global poverty and biodiversity loss yearly
Around the world richest areas of biodiversity often tend to overlap with some of the poorest human populations. Evidence already revealed that healthy environments are often more resilient to climate change, whilst poor people are often more at risk. If poverty alleviation and biodiversity conservation could help to meet other's goals then the global efforts to achieve them, and to buffer the world against climate change, could be much more efficient and effective.

NEPAD to celebrate 10-yr with essay, photo contest
A press statement made available to Naija AgroNet, Thursday indicated that (NEPAD) Agency in collaboration with the Technical Centre for Agricultural and Rural Cooperation ACP-EU (CTA) have joined hands in celebrating NEPAD’s 10th Anniversary.
“It is within this context of reflecting over the advancement of the African development agenda, that the two institutions are jointly organising photo and essay competitions,” part of the press statement read.
Also, it stated that the essay competition is themed “Looking at ICTs and entrepreneurship in agriculture and rural development through the eyes of women and the youth” and “Looking at ICTs, agriculture, entrepreneurship and climate change in Africa through the eyes of women and the youth” for the photo competition.
This contest, Naija AgroNet gathered falls in the framework of CTA activities on Youth, Women and ICTs.
Also, in line with these objectives, CTA and NEPAD Agency are searching for enthusiastic Africans, who want to demonstrate their abilities by examining these issues. Give it a trial.
