Speaking at the formal launch at the Sheraton Lagos on Wednesday, the state commissioner for Economic Planning and Budget, Mr. Sam Egube, said it was one of a major land mark in the effort of the present administration in addressing pillar two of the T.H.E.M.E.S agenda.

The African Centre for LeadershipStrategy and Development (Centre LSD) under her BUILD grant by Ford Foundation is set to build the Capacity of representatives of Mining Host Communities & Artisanal Miners in Taraba State, with the aim of mainstreaming gender in the various value chains of the extractive industry.

A press statement by Ms. Victoria Ose Udoh, Programme Co-ordinator of the Centre said, the training is the third in the series and is designed to run for 3 days. According to her, the 3-day training is expected to commence on the 13th through to 15th of October 2021. The training is expected to deepen participants knowledge on leadership and organization, negotiation, Crafting Memorandum of Understanding (MoU)/Community Development Agreement (CDA), public speakinglivelihood, entrepreneurship, gender in the extractives, amongst others.

A bill for a law to prohibit and abolish open and Nomadic cattle and other livestock grazing and rearing in Anambra State and to establish cattle and other livestock ranches in the state, has scaled the second reading in the Anambra State House of Assembly.

Introducing the bill during plenary, the majority leader, Dr. Nnamdi Okafor explained that the bill is aimed at arresting any form of open cattle rearing and grazing in Anambra State, promote modern techniques in animal husbandry, prevent the destruction of farms by nomads as well as stop killings and herder - farmer clashes in the state.
